Should i start a career in computers with only technical school training?

is this worth even considering to start a career in say networking computers if i have only gotten technical school training and get my A+ cert, security + cert, and a few others. or would it just be a waste of time without a 2-4 year college degree?

Do you already have the training? If so, go for it. If not, try to get a job working with computers. Start at the bottom, minimum wage is fine as long as you are starting out. The experience will be very useful. Then, go to school while working in the field. That way you will be using what you learn immediately. Schooling without experience is not as good as schooling with experience. Good luck.

Having a degree is certainly a key to many jobs..... however, if you are good at what you do - have a knack for Networking and know computers - you'd be surprised how far you can go. Networkers are always in demand - but get those certifications in everything.

I am A+ certified but it's really a bottom certification.....There's lots of them out there that are valued and it's a lot of work. Remember Mr. Gates dropped out of school.....because he had an idea and a dream......
