Is it possible to run two computers into one monitor using PIP?

I would like to utilize two computers and show them on one monitor but the monitor doesn't have any Picture In Picture PIP capabilities. Is there a box that would take two VGA inputs, combine them, and output one VGA signal to be used by the monitor? I'm not allowed to buy another monitor, the standard setup is only one.

the only way i can think of is buy a video capture device, install it on one of the PC, connect the video output of the other PC to the video input of your capture device and fire up the included capture program.

that way, you can have the output of the other PC as a PIP

but that is not an elegant solution

i have never heard of any VGA controller/output that combines the input of two or more VGA input to display as one

You can purchase a KVM switch. It will allow you to switch between the two display but you can't have both up a the same time.
