You need to get yourself a router ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Router ) to handle the incoming connection before it's sent to the local network.

The two common solutions to sharing an internet connection is to use either a hardware router like above or a computer running routing software, like Internet Connection Sharing in Windows XP. The latter requires a computer to act as a gateway for the other computers, meaning that it needs to be on all the time to facilitate a permanent connection to the other computers.

Use wireless ROUTER then you can enjoy it.
There are two ways: buy a router, or put a second network card in the computer with the broadband connection and use it as a server to share the connection with the other computers.

There's no way to do it without either a router or a computer with two network cards to act as the server. Search Microsoft's site for ''Internet Connection Sharing'' to learn more about this subject.
if it is a DSL connection or a W/LAN connection, you can share it using a Switch.
