Is there any way to directly transfer data between two computers wirelessly if both computers have w

basically what i am asking is that like we can tranfer data between two computers using cat-5 crossover cable if both machines have ethernet port. is the same possible if both machines have wi-fi cards- so that some kind of direct wireless connection can be made between two machines and data transfer can take place just like with cable. is yes, how to do it, and what will be its distance (range)

It's possible. Either connect both computers to the same wireless network, or set up an ad-hoc (computer-to-computer) wireless network. After the connection is established, file transfers can take place just as if an Ethernet cable was plugged in.

Just set up adhoc network, turn on file and print sharing.
Yes, But you need a hub or router as the interface for the network and you have to enable file sharing on both computers(usaully MS Home) WiFi are usaully good for 100meters
