I currently have 2 computers sharing an internet connection through a wireless router. i have tried a few times to set up the system so that i can transfer files wirelessly. I have tried following guides i have found on the net, but with no success.
I am sure it is pretty straight forward and would very much apprieciate some help from a knowledgeable person

I asked this yesterday....here are two of the answers i got (i have combined them for you) it works as my desktop can now see me laptop via my wireless router.....
Plug the two machines into the router. On each machine, go to My Computer and right-click it. Go to the COMPUTER NAME tab. Give each machine a new name. It doesn't matter what name, but they have to be named differently. Also, change the workgroup name to something beside WORKGROUP. Reboot each PC. Once you have them both rebooted, create shares.
Go to the Windows Explorer and highlight a folder you want to share. Right-click it and go to the SHARING tab. Create a new share. Reboot.
Now right click on My computer, properties%26gt;%26gt;computer name tab, write down the full computer name.
go to the other pc, start%26gt;%26gt;search, select computers or people, a computer on the network, type in the computer name, hit search. Once it comes up, double click it, and your folder that you just set up to share will be listed.
