One sorround sound system with two computers?

how can i hook up a sorround sound system to two computers so they can both have sound at the same time? or is it impossible? do i need any extra hardware or software, im going to get the Logitech Z-5500 Digital, here's a link to it. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speake...

There is no cost-effective way to get simultaneous surround sound (you would need some sort of mixer). You could get stereo out of one computer and surround from another by hooking the audio out (mini) from one computer to the line in (mini) of another.



A better solution (though not simultaneous sound) is:



The z-5500's have 3 types of inputs: digital (optical), digital(coax), and analog (mini). Assuming at least one computer supports digital out via either coax or optical digital (most do) hook one computer up with that and the other with one of the remaining two options. Your best bet would be one as digital coax, the other as digital optical.



The Z-5500 remote should allow you to switch inputs.
